What is Maker-checker?
A change approved by someone other than its author
- Also: four-eyes principle
- Also: two-person approval
Definition
Maker-checker is a control in which the person who makes a change cannot be the person who approves it. Applied to Salesforce, it means every production change is reviewed and approved by a second person before it deploys.
01Why it matters
Maker-checker in practice
It catches mistakes the author cannot see and gives auditors a clear separation of duties. Many compliance frameworks expect it for production systems.

How it shows up in the product
In SyncOnAI 360, production needs an approved proposal, and in a workspace with two or more admins the approver must be someone other than the author. A single-admin workspace can approve its own change, and the activity log records that it did.
